Horn Arrangement
John's horn arrangements were recently performed at Carnegie Hall (the following is a portion of a review on The New York Times website:)
"A Thursday-night benefit concert for the Rainforest Fund brought together Sting, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Shirley Bassey, Debbie Harry and Bruce Springsteen on a Carnegie Hall stage. So what does this all-star lineup sing? "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, which is the mathematical average of the six performers, we guess? In any case, it's like the best episode of 'Glee' ever."
The Rock Tenor
The Rock Tenor is a new concert experience
that brings together classical and Broadway music with some of the
greatest rock and roll ever written. For even the most casual fan of
Broadway, classical and rock and roll, the Rock Tenor
is nothing you expect from a traditional touring concert and
everything you never knew you wanted, performed with unequalled
intensity by five soaring, extraordinary voices.

"Rather than expanding the original with additional solos, as Dream Theater's Jordan Rudess did on The Road Home (Magna Carta, 2007), Rewiring Genesis sticks closer to The Lamb's basic form. But imaginative reallocation of Genesis' electric instruments, John Hinchey's creative horn and string arrangements, and D'Virgilio's personal yet respectful delivery makes A Tribute to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway a rare tribute album that succeeds so well on its own merits that it's almost possible to forget the original.
